Our Holiday Cards - 2020 & 2021

I realized that I never shared my family’s holiday card from 2020. It was an interesting year for sure. It was also the first year we opted to skip the professional photos with Santa that we’d been doing for the past six years and instead we just put my iPhone on a tripod and took photos in our bedroom. It was a year of unintended togetherness and we all survived. The photo quality wasn’t great, but it kind of fit for how 2020 went.

On the back I shared a bit about what we were all up to during the year.

This year I really wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. 2021 was a year of road trips for us since my husband spent the whole year on sabbatical, so we traveled during every school break and a few times during the summer. Then the second half of the year was dedicated to my oldest and I training for our taekwondo black belt test.

So we decided to have our travels be the focus of our holiday card this year. I put together a collage of Polaroid photos from some of our adventures and then the back listed some of the highlights of our year and a salutation.

The photo on the back was taken at Sand Hollow State Park by the amazing Arika Bauer from Zion Adventure Photog. She took wonderful family photos for us just after Christmas last year and I adore how they turned out. If you’re ever in southern Utah and want some fantastic photos to document your travels, or even just a beautiful backdrop for family photos, give her a call. She works great with kids and she’s even done engagements and proposals.

Both this year and last year, I had my cards printed at my local Office Depot. They’ve done a good job every time I’ve had something printed and they get it done quickly; usually done the same day. When I have the time to place an online order, I usually go with Overnight Prints.

Here’s to getting further through a pandemic and hopefully moving closer to a life that’s closer to the normal we had before. Happy New Year!

Juliana's 5th Birthday

Juliana had a sweet party at a petting zoo for her 5th birthday. Her mom, Kelly really didn’t want to do a cowgirl or a farm theme, so we created this cute invitation with lots of farm animals and a lovely photo of the birthday girl herself.

I hope your party was lots of fun Juliana, happy birthday!

New Holiday Cards

It's a little later than I wanted, but I managed to get a few new holiday cards designs and added to my Etsy shop this past week.

I'll be accepting orders for holiday cards (whether custom or in my Etsy shop) thru Sunday, December 20th. After the 20th, I will deactivate holiday card listings in my shop and spending the week of Christmas with my family.

All of these designs have a couple of options when it comes to either a text color or a background color. Clicking on an image will take you to its listing in my shop.

Custom Holiday Cards

I created holiday cards that are currently available in my Etsy shop. Each listing explains what can and cannot be customized and if there are options for colors. Let me know how you're planning to print your cards and I'll make sure to set up the final files to the correct printing specifications.

Clicking on an image will direct you to its corresponding Etsy listing.

This is one of my current favorites! One image and a Christmas greeting, choose either the green or blue colorway.

This is a two-sided design with a large image on the front. You can have it say either Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays (or some variation of those). The back has space for up to five images along with a letter to friends and family about your family's year.

This design allows you to showcase five images and give your family and friends a top ten list of the highlights of your year. I can do either a green or blue faux chalkboard background and I have have the bottom say either Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas (or any variation of those). Please keep your "top ten" brief as space is limited.

This design is laid out to be sent in a #10 envelope. You can have the bottom greeting say anything you'd like and the space at the bottom of each polaroid photo can caption each image.

Six images and a non-Christmasy greeting. Great if you're like me and you struggle to get your cards into the mail before Christmas!

Share one image with a snowflake background and holiday lights for a border!

One family photo and a couple of giant snowflakes. I can customize the color of the flags at the top and bottom to correspond to colors that are in your photo or leave them as is. Let me know!

One family photo and sized to fit into a #10 envelope. You can choose between a red, green or blue swirly background too!

Simple design with a greeting you can customize. Choose either red, green or blue for the snowflake background.

Simple design that showcases one family photo. Two color options and it can say either Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays or a variation of those.

I am working on new designs that I hope to be able to add to my shop within the next week or so.

Shoot me an email if you're looking for something custom or you want to rework one of these designs. Also check out the custom cards I've created for clients. I can rework those designs to fit your needs as well.

Our Holiday Card - 2013

Even though we took some great family photos in July of 2013 with my dear friend Cari Hollis, it took me forever to design a holiday card and get them printed and mailed. I was newly pregnant and dealing with all of the "fun" that comes with the first trimester. Knowing I wouldn't get them out before Christmas, I turned them into a Happy New Year card instead of a Christmas card. I thought they turned out pretty awesome.

VistaPrint continues to wow me with their print quality and affordability.

This design is one of the ones I have listed for sale in my Etsy shop. Check it out!

Happy New Year!!
