Emily & Shane

Emily contacted me last summer about creating a wedding invitation for her December wedding. She and Shane are both avid cyclists and they fell in love with the invitations I created for Melissa & Patrick. So I was happy to create something that fit the colors and style for their wedding.

Emily was gracious enough to send me one of their invitations. They went with a gatefolded invitation with just one RSVP card insert.

The sillhouettes of the bicycles and the tandem bicycle are all of Emily and Shane's actual bikes!

They had everything printed on a lovely linen card stock, it really added a classy texture.

Don't stress, I changed their address.

For the wedding itself, we also created some fun signs. These photos were taken by their awesome wedding photographer Ashley Russ. If you click on any of the photos below, you'll head over to her website.

This sign is my favorite: "I've got a fever! And the only prescription is more BIKE bell!" I wonder how many guests got the fun SNL reference. Guests wrote their well wishes onto the wood boards displayed in the background. It will make for some really cool wall art for their home.

Rather than print out a hundred or so programs for guests, they printed one large program that sat in an entryway for guests to know the afternoon's schedule.

They had a local food truck that specializes in fancy grilled cheese providing dinner for the evening. Yum!

It looks like it was a really lovely wedding, congratulations Shane and Emily!!

Our Las Vegas Vow Renewal

My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary last month, and to commemorate, we renewed our vows in front of a couple of friends and family members in Las Vegas.

Back when we were planning our wedding in 2007, and kind of over the craziness, we joked about flying to Las Vegas and eloping. My husband confessed that he'd LOVE to have our ceremony officiated by none other than Elvis Presley. We agreed that day that we'd renew on our 10th anniversary with Elvis. And we did!

Even though we weren't planning anything extravagant, I still wanted to create an invitation for the occasion.

I was going for fun, but not cheesy, and I wanted to slyly put Elvis in there somewhere. The skyline of Las Vegas and a bokeh background worked perfectly to convey the mood I wanted to.

I mailed these to friends and family in metallic red envelopes that I ordered from Cards and Pockets; the Jupiter color. They coordinated beautifully with the invitations. I printed names and addresses on each one with my laser printer.

We renewed our vows at the Graceland Wedding Chapel, Elvis sang a few songs and performed the ceremony. It was cheesy and so much fun!!  So many thanks to everyone who has supported us over these last ten years.

Bridget & Gannon

Gannon's sister, Miriam is a long-time friend and client and I was thrilled to be asked to create invitations for their wedding. Their wedding colors included magenta, sage green, and accents in metallic gold, and Bridget loved a few invitations she saw that had this sparkly burst of dots, so that's where I went with the invitations.

We created just one insert to go with the invitation. It included how to R.S.V.P. and information about the reception.

I love how everything turned out and I hope married live has been wonderful for you both. Congratulations!

Amber & Shawnstin

Amber presented me with a really fun challenge this spring, design an invitation for a wedding that would have both Star Wars and Harry Potter themed elements. Not wanting to use any licensed characters or logos meant that nods to both fandoms would have to be subtle. I'm really happy with how it turned out.

If you aren't a big fan of either Harry Potter or Star Wars, then you might need the elements pointed out to you. At the top, the Star Wars inspired text is pretty obvious. On either side of the text are silhouettes of the Elder Wand from Harry Potter.

Towards the bottom are a couple more nods to Harry Potter with the infamous chapter stars on either side of their wedding date and the word "Always" at the bottom with the A mimicking the icon for the Deathly Hallows.

They had just one insert with their invitation that showed a map to the venue along with how to RSVP online.

These were SO fun to work on! I wish you guys all the best on your wedding day. Congrats!

Nikki & Damienn

Since my website was hacked a couple of years ago, I'm still getting some older projects added back to my blog. Nikki and Damienn's is one of them. They got married back in 2010, but their invitation still deserves a spot in the blog.

Nikki was such an awesome bride to work with. She was planning a black tie wedding for their families and we wanted the invitation to reflect that. I think we succeeded.

Extra thanks to Nikki for being gracious enough to send me an invitation and program so I could photograph them for my website.

She went with Perfetto pocketfolds from Cards and Pockets in a matte black and the printed items were printed on a metallic pearl card stock.

There were just three inserts and love the pop of color that came from the metallic green rsvp envelope. The color is Fairway, also from Cards and Pockets.

We continued with a menu that was set at each place setting at the wedding reception.

For a wedding program, Nikki wanted to go with an elegant booklet that was bound with black satin ribbon. Kudos to the printing company she used for getting these black covers looking so good.

The back cover said thanks to the friends and family members who couldn't be there for the wedding. It's not easy to see, but I was stoked to see that the flourish that we used on their invitations printed beautifully in the background of the cover.

I love how all of these turned out and I hope Nikki and Damienn have enjoyed married life for the last seven-ish years.
