Flairly Social

My dear friend Cari started a social media consulting business, along with two friends, Britt and Monica, and I was honored to create a logo for them with this new venture. Flairly Social helps small businesses and direct sellers build a social media presence and a brand. Each of the colors on the three, intertwined circles represents one of the members of the business. It’s a simple logo, but I love how it turned out.

I created a custom, printable calendar that they can give away to clients and fans.

Lastly (for now), I created a handful of backgrounds that they can use on their website and when creating social media posts. Here’s a sampling of what I made for them:

Hike it Baby 30 Challenge - 2019

I had the pleasure of creating stickers to commemorate the two Hike it Baby 30 Challenges for 2019. In previous years, they used to have four challenges every year, but decided to cut it down to just two in April and September. You can see the stickers I created for 2018 here.

For 2019, we stuck with a similar watercolor and ink style and I made the April sticker quintessential to spring with blooming crocus, green grass, patches of melting snow, and the sky streaked for a sunrise.

In an effort to get more folks out on trail with their kids, they created a secondary challenge called Take it Outside. Participants received a sticker that loosely coordinated with the HiB30 sticker along with two sheets of little stickers to use on a calendar page that they printed out. Each day on the calendar page gave ideas for a daily activity designed to motivate people to get outside every day. I love how these turned out and it was awesome to see folks using the calendar page and stickers throughout the challenge.

When the September challenge rolled around, I created a new sticker and we added a few more hikers to the artwork, wanting to give more of a community feel. The Smoky Mountains in Tennessee and North Carolina were the inspiration for this sticker.

To go with the September sticker, they did another Take it Outside challenge for new members too, this was the coordinating sticker.

Allie & Danny's Baby Shower

Brandi was planning a coed baby shower for her sister-in-law and she asked me to create an invitation and some extras for the shindig. The theme was “a baby is brewing” and Brandi sent me a photo of the bedding set that Allie had purchased for their baby girl. I was able to use some of the same floral graphics for the invitation and I love how it turned out!

Since Allie and Danny don’t live in the same state as where their baby shower took place, we made sure to mention it on the insert that listed their registry information.

In addition to the invitation, I also made signs for a headband-making station and for a time capsule that guests made for their new baby.

Influencer One-Sheets: Down With Adventure

I had the privilege of creating a one-sheet for Melody that she was planning to take with her to the Outdoor Retailer trade show; with plans to meet up with brands to partner with as an influencer. Funny enough, I became a fan of hers even before I knew she lived close to me. A mutual friend shared about Melody and her family on Instagram and I was totally wowed. Her family was featured on REI’s blog last spring, complete with a beautiful video. Then I got to meet Melody in person when we both attended a retreat in southern Utah and we realized that we only live like 20 minutes from each other. Small world!

Melody and her husband are on a mission to hike in every National Park with their kids, and so far they’ve visited over 20! Their youngest daughter, Ruby, was born with Down syndrome and their goals are to show the world that having a child with special needs doesn’t mean you can’t still go on adventures.

For Melody’s one-sheet, we used a handful of photos taken by the talented Arika Bauer from Zion Adventure Photography. We included a little blurb about their family, the brands she’s been able to partner with already, and other ways the Forsyth family has been featured on podcasts, websites, and videos.

I made two versions for her; one meant to be printed, the other meant to be shared digitally and has fully-clickable links to her Instagram, videos, and podcasts.

I love how they turned out!

30 Things - Hike it Baby

I had the privilege of creating an activity sheet for Hike it Baby back in 2017 titled: 30 Things to do Outside with your Kids. I made it very graphic-heavy and it was a really fun challenge to arrange it all. Folks could print it out and check off the items they found or even stick it in a sheet protector and use a dry erase marker. I also made a PDF version where the checkboxes could be clicked using Adobe Reader.

The first one went nearly-viral on Facebook with hundreds of Likes, Comments, and over 8000 Shares. It was really awesome to see.

The popularity prompted us to do a couple more. We’ve also made Spanish versions of all three of these.

30 Things to do in Your Neighborhood was created in 2020 when the world was quarantined and getting out to parks or some outdoor spaces was difficult.

30 Things to do at a National Wildlife Refuge was created in cahoots with Portland & Vancouver National Wildlife Refuges.

These have been so much fun to create, I hope we can do more in the future. What else could we do? 30 Things to Find at the Beach? 30 Things to Find When Camping? 30 Things to do on a Night Hike?
